Before you book

I've never worked with clay before. Can I still join a course?
Absolutely, all our workshops welcome complete beginners. No prior experience is needed; your instructor guides you through every step at your own pace.
What should I wear to a workshop?
Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting a little messy, working with clay and glaze is a hands-on, occasionally dusty process. Aprons are provided, and it helps to keep nails short and remove rings before working at the wheel.
Do I need to bring anything?
No, all clay, tools and materials are included. Just bring yourself. If you'd like to keep your hands free during the silver ring workshop, you're welcome to bring a small reference image for inspiration.
How many people are in a workshop?
We keep groups small so everyone gets personal, hands-on guidance. Our wheel-throwing courses are capped at four participants.
Which languages are the workshops held in?
Most workshops are held in English, German, or both, the language for each session is noted on its workshop page. Ceramics & Body Language is held in German.
Is there a minimum age?
Our workshops are designed for adults. Ceramics & Body Language is 18+. For younger makers or family sessions, get in touch and we'll arrange a private workshop.

Up to 24 hours before, the spot is non-refundable, but you're welcome to pass it to someone else. Please send all cancellations in writing to hallo@luetstudio.ch. Full details are in our terms.

Your finished pieces

When can I collect my finished ceramics?
Your pieces are usually ready about two to three weeks after your session. Once they've been trimmed, glazed and fired, we'll let you know they're ready to collect from the studio. Please collect finished work within 30 days of being notified, after that, uncollected pieces may be disposed of and a handling fee can apply.
Why does it take a few weeks to get my pieces?
Ceramics need time. After your session the clay must dry fully, then it's trimmed, bisque-fired, glazed and fired a second time at high temperature. Each kiln cycle takes time to heat and cool, which is why finished work is ready a couple of weeks later.
Are the ceramics food-safe and dishwasher-safe?
We use food-safe glazes, so your pieces are suitable for everyday use. As with all handmade ceramics, gentle hand-washing is recommended to keep them looking their best for years.
What do I take home from the silver ring workshop?
A finished, wearable fine-silver ring, made, refined and polished by you, ready to wear the same day. No waiting and no firing service needed.
Can my finished pieces be shipped to me?
Pieces are normally collected from the studio in Kreis 3. If you can't make it in, send us a message and we'll see what we can arrange.
